Amorim reveals Yoro will make his debut for the Red Devils at Arsenal.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has revealed French defender Leni Yoro could make his debut against Arsenal on Wednesday.
Yoro joined United from Lille for £52m in the summer. But has yet to make an official appearance for the club after picking up an injury in pre-season in the United States UFABET
The 19-year-old defender has been back in training since October and is fit to be available for Wednesday’s Premier League trip to Arsenal.
Amorim said of Yoro’s fitness: “Leni Yoro could be in the squad. I feel he’s in good shape now. His fitness is better. We’ll have another training session to see.”
“We have to be careful in the beginning. We don’t train together much. He trains with a small group with the players. We have to manage how much he plays without overloading them.”
“He’s got a special talent, he’s got great pace and he’s a modern defender. I’m excited to see Leni Yoro play.”
The Dutchman’s side, Ajax, also scored more goals per game and conceded fewer goals per game than Amorim has while in control at Sporting.
And with that likely shift in formation expected, United fans may need to prepare. That the change of manager might not yield an instant change of fortunes.
