Former Chelsea defender advises Nkunku to find new team.
Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy has advised Christopher Nkunku to consider a move away from the club amid his status as understudy to Enzo Maresca.
The 27-year-old forward moved to Stamford Bridge last summer with the hope of finding the net, but injury problems limited him to just 14 appearances last season and, despite regaining fitness. He was often a substitute, starting just three Premier League games and mostly used in cup competitions.
Barcelona have reportedly shown interest in signing him. With Cundy โปรโมชั่นพิเศษจาก UFABET สมัครตอนนี้ รับโบนัสทันที saying that if an offer comes his way. Nkunku should consider a move.
“With Nkunku, where is his best position? Who is this player?” Cundy told UfabetSPORT. “For me he’s a No. 10 – he can play on the left and is a big presence in the last 15-20 minutes of the game.
“But he’s not a No 9 and he and (Nicolas) Jackson are two different types of strikers. So Chelsea have two completely different strikers and two different systems with the wingers and Palmer.”
“I feel for Nkunku because he’s stuck in two positions. He’s not a No 9 and he’s a No 10. So where’s his best position?”
“The whole No.9 role has been Jackson’s this season and Nkunku hasn’t played that role when given the chance. I think he might have to think about his future at the club because there’s no role for him in this system. Maresca doesn’t have a place for him, the coach uses him because he feels he has to.”
